Baseball Pitching DrillsHow can you use the Leather Pitching Target to drill your on-the-mound skills and improve your overall athletic abilities? If you opt for the professional model, a grid of 30 6" x 6" leather squares colored to represent the strike zone and outline lanes for both right handed and left handed hitters, you can practice several different self-directed training exercises and boost your skills incrementally.
One superior drill
or skill test is called "Around the World." In this exercise, you aim to hit all nine target strike zone squares within 15 pitches. This is a very difficult game, and it trains your muscle memory and accuracy to pinpoint precision. Once you've mastered "Around the
World" at a short distance, you can move the target back another two feet and build your long distance skills.
Another simple but effective drill you can perform with the Leather Pitching Target is known as "10
-10." Basically, your goal is to throw 10 pitches in a row in the strike zone. Once you've accomplished this feat at a short distance, you move the LPT
back two feet and repeat the drill.
If you're training with a partner or a coach, you can play Horse with the LPT.
Call out your 6" x 6" square in advance, or aim for a specific lane. If you hit your target, your partner has to follow suit. If your partner misses, he gets a letter. The first person to spell "horse" is the loser. Find out more on LeatherPitchingTarget.com today, or order as soon as possible via our toll free number, 1-888-344-5572.
